Reviews for Sybil
Review - Sybil
Disraeli has a ponderous style and often got deep into British politics and conversations between minor characters during which I often had only a vague idea of what was going on. I came very close to quitting the book a third of the way through. The two main characters of Egremont and Sybil were only "on stage" for perhaps a third of the story. The ending, where all the convenient people died and Sybil turned out not to be working class after all rather weakened the main point, I thought.
