The first half of the book is about a quirky museum in L.A. that contains exhibits that are sometimes real, sometimes not, and sometimes an odd mix of both. It's all presented with ironic seriousness, and the viewer is left to guess and wonder what's true and what's not.

The second half of the book looks at the origins of museums—the wunderkammers—"wonder cabinets—built before science had unraveled the nature of things. They were built by collectors to house all sorts of strange things that were unusual and unexplained.

Review - Mr. Wilson's Cabinet of Wonder

Interesting now and then, but it was really just about the author's fascination with the museum and its creator. It included such fascinating subjects as the menu at a nearby Indian restaurant.
