Notes:Claire Randall, a married English nurse during WWII, steps between two rocks in Scotland and finds herself transported 200 years back in time. She's taken to the castle of the clan McKenzie where she's allowed to live and make herself useful with nursing. She meets Jamie Fraser, a young outlaw who's hunted by the English for a murder (which he did not commit) during a cattle raid. The officer searching for him is named Randall, an ancestor of Claire's 1940s husband. Clan politics force Claire and Jamie to be married, but they soon grow to love each other. Claire tries to get back to the rock to her time, but can't. She is accused of being a witch because of her healing and sentence to death. Jamie rescues her, she tells him all, and he takes her to the rock. But Claire decides she loves Jamie more and stays in the past. They go to Jamie's ancestral home, but he is captured and tortured by Randall and sentences to be hung. Claire organizes a rescue and grabs Jamie, more dead than alive, and takes him to France.

Review - Outlander

I wanted to like it more than I did. The concept is good, and the writing isn't bad. But there were long stretches where nothing important happened, there were way too many descriptions of love-making, and the major crisis points were described as though they were kinda no big deal.
