Notes:Daniel Baxter quits his job as a reporter in D.C. and buys a small newspaper in Martha, Texas, where he keeps track of local affairs and spends his weekends on his boat on the Gulf. He hires Jamie, a young woman, to be his assistant, and teaches her the newspaper business. Meanwhile, somebody is sneaking around town looking in windows at women and leaving them presents. It becomes a scandal, but at the same time, some people in town, once they realize there's no threat, think it's kinda funny. Baxter decides to print the story, which causes an uproar. The main businesses in town decide to pull their ads, but he gets back at them by shutting down the paper so the town can't function. The peeper, who's really the mayor, decides he's seen all he needs to see and stops. Baxter and jaime end up together.

Review - Peeper

The author spent much of the book trying to convince the reader that Baxter was the peeper, which made him a less-sympathetic character. And as much as he tried to make it all sound fun and harmless, it was just creepy. The story about Baxter and Jaime was fun, but not enough to carry an entire novel.
