Notes:Claudio plays out the classic role of never going to the source to find out the truth when he hears of his future wife's unfaithfullness. Then there is the other pair of enemies, Beatrice and Benedick who spend the majority of their time cat-fighting and spitting hateful nasties at each other.

Review - Much Ado About Nothing

I just watched the Kenneth Branagh movie version of this play. If you haven't seen it, I recommend it highly (although I should warn you there's some flashes of nudity and a rather steamy scene). It contains, I think, the entire text of the play and therefore counts as reading it. Besides Branagh, it stars Denzel Washington, Emma Thompson, Keanu Reeves and Michael Keaton as the fool sheriff. Shakespeare's plot is goofy, but it comes alive in the film, proving once again that drama was written to be watched, not read.
