Notes:Two rival families, the Montagues and the Capulets, vie for pre-eminence in Renaissance Italy. Romeo, the son of Montague, goes to a Capulet party in disguise, and meets Juliet. Do they fall in love? Do they live happily ever after? You’ll have to read the book to find out.

COMMENTS — Famous quotes to watch for:
• A pair of star-crossed lovers.
• What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.
• Good night, good night! Parting is such sweet sorrow.
• A plague o’ both your houses.
• The strength of twenty men.

Review - Romeo and Juliet

This Shakespeare dude could write.

So many great lines. And they're not a bit cornier than the things young people in love still say to each other.

I’m going to try to drop a line from this scene into conversation someday soon. Perhaps this one: “How camest thou hither, tell me, and wherefore?”
