I researched all the Grant sites in town and made sure I found them and took photographs, but we didn’t go inside. Grant worked as a clerk in this store before the Civil War. The store was in the larger building in my photograph, the second door from the right. The writing on the window says that it is now the Joe Daviess County Office of the Stephenson County Senior Center.
