Description:Gus (Clint Eastwood) is a scout for the Atlanta Braves. He's getting up in years and having trouble seeing, so his buddy in the organization, Pete (John Goodman) asks Gus's daughter Mickey (Amy Adams) to check up on him. Mickey catches up with Gus in North Carolina where he's scouting a prospect. The two have a rough relationship — after Gus's wife died, he sent Mickey to a boarding school and she feels abandoned and has trouble letting anyone get close. Another scout, Johnny (Justin Timberlake) is willing to try. Gus recommends against the prospect because he can't hit the curve, but a younger scout disagrees. The prospect is taken with the first draft pick and Gus is fired. Mickey is getting ready to go back to her job as a lawyer when she spots a kid pitching outside her hotel room. She calls Pete and arranges for a tryout with the Braves where he impresses everyone and, incidentally, proves the other prospect can't hit the curve. Gus is resigned, Mickey becomes the agent for the pitcher and ends up with Johnny.

Review - Trouble with the Curve

I've seen this movie twice now. I liked it the first time and loved it the second time. It may be my favorite baseball movie, even though it's more about the relationship between a father and daughter. But even then, Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams are hard to beat.
