Natural Bridge of Arkansas

We took a one-day road trip to visit some antique stores and to eat at a restaurant that had bene recommended to us. On the way, we saw signs for Natural Bridge of Arkansas and so, always ready for tourist traps, we stopped on the way home.

And tourist trap it was. There were two small cabins, supposedly originals from the area. One housed the gift shop where we paid our $5 each to get in.

The other contained a jumble of all sorts of tools, gadgets, cookware, appliances, etc. all from long ago.

Parts of an actual moonshine still are on display below the “museum” cabin. And it’s very exciting, let me tell you.

The bridge is as underwhelming as the rest of the place.

We were told it was eroded by a creek, but no water was running this day.

A trail ran up the hill to the top of the bridge and gave us this incredible view.
