We’d just eaten lunch at the Dog n Suds in West Lafayette, but since we were in the neighborhood, we decided to hit this one too. My wife and daughter got root beer floats and I got a shake. We only stayed long enough to get our stuff and take a few photos. The most interesting feature was the old junker in a back lot with two front ends.
On the way to Turkey Run State Park, we stopped at both Dog n Suds restaurants in the Lafayette area — one for lunch and one for dessert. We hit this one first. I got a foot-long hot dog, onion rings and a root beer. I had a cold, so I have no idea what any of it tasted like.
Sugar Creek near the trail head behind the nature center. We’d just hiked one of the trails with several friends and stopped for a few minutes to enjoy the view and watch the many canoeists. It was late September, but it didn’t feel like it. The trees were still green with just a touch of color here and there and the temperature was in the 80s.
Oh, how I’m looking forward to warm weather.
I visited this bridge twice, the first time on Friday evening. Our purpose was to take photos, but the sky was hazy and the light was bad. We hung around for a while and skipped rocks and searched for Indian beads (more on this in a future post) and played with dead animal parts.
On my second visit, on Saturday afternoon, we spent most of the time looking for more Indian beads and debating whether they were authentic. Although it was earlier in the day, the light was better for photographs. These photos are a mix from both visits.
