It all started here — when I posted the results of my Pop-Tart taste test.
My niece sent my post to the fine folks at Kellogg’s and received this response — promising coupons and a gift.
Five months and a series of increasingly-testy e-mails later, I finally received my gift. It’s a plastic container.
The instructions were to put Pop-Tarts in the container and then put the container in the freezer. When the letters on the front change color, the Pop-Tarts are frozen and ready to eat — assuming you want to eat them frozen.
I’m happy to say that it works and was well worth the wait.
For the record, I bought and tried the new limited-edition flavor — Choc-o-Lantern. They are just Frosted Chocolate Fudge with a different-colored frosting. Fortunately my daughters were around to eat most of them.

The before and after pics really demonstrate the necessity of a freezer pop-tart cozy.
Nice action shot. The blue really “pops” when it freezes.
Sigh.
No coupons.
And my name’s the one added to their “Annoying Customers” list.
It’s tough.
