Harry S. Truman Presidential Museum and Library — Independence, Missouri

After touring Truman’s Home and neighborhood, I visited his library and museum, just up the road. This was the first Presidential Library, and Harry set it up when he was alive. The displays were well done, although I didn’t take the time to read everything. Harry and Bess are buried in the courtyard.

There was a mock-up of what the oval office looked like when Truman was in the White House.

I saw Harry’s famous “The Buck Stopped Here” sign and the guns used by the assassins who tried to kill him.
