Mississippi
On Friday, we didn’t have to be in the booth until 10:00. My coworkers and I got up before dawn and walked the mile or so to the Mississippi River, arriving just as the sun did.
We walked across the Mississippi River on the Stone Arch Bridge. We only went about 30 feet on the other side.
The skyline of Minneapolis as seen from across the river, down the length of the Stone Arch Bridge over the Mississippi.
Saint Anthony Falls on the Mississippi River as seen from the Stone Arch Bridge. Downtown Minneapolis is on the left, Hennepin Island on the right.
The towboat Michael G. pushes barges under the Stone Arch Bridge and into the Upper St. Anthony Falls Lock and Dam on the Mississippi River.
I wandered about Mill Ruins Park, an interesting spot featuring the remains of old flour mills on the Mississippi River.

Nicollet Mall
I spotted this Dahl Violin Shop sign on the back wall of an old building down the alley across from the Hilton Minneapolis (in the background). When I walked back to get this photo, a policeman was checking doors in the other buildings. He stared at me and the chair, but said nothing.

Loring Park
On my walk back to my hotel from the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, I crossed the Irene Hixon Whitney Bridge, strolled through Loring Park and cut through the Loring Greenway.

Spoonbridge and Cherry
I had a couple hours between booth set up and dinner on Thursday afternoon to see everything there was to see in Minneapolis. I wandered about a mile to the Minnesota Sculpture Garden.
The center attraction of the garden is Spoonbridge with Cherry.
