I was at my desk in my study with the window open when I heard this balloon going over my house. Yes, heard. The balloonist was turning on the jets — whoosh, whoosh, whoosh — to gain altitude to clear the power lines not far away. There wasn’t a lot of wind, so I had plenty of time to grab my phone and remove the screen from the window to get this shot. The light from the setting sun made the balloon glow, but the color photograph didn’t really catch it so I decided to try it this way.
