Grant’s Birthplace was right across the U.S. Grant Memorial Highway from the Ohio River. While my wife and daughter relaxed in the shade (it was a very hot day), I carried the chair over and took a photo.
I have rarely in my life smelled anything as disgusting as the odor emanating from the Ohio River at this particular place and time. I took the photo and got out of there as quickly as I could.
On my short walk to and from the river, I passed the Grant Memorial Bridge. Here it is in all its glory.
